Road to Virtuosity is a structured sheet music library and performance-tracking platform that measures musical progress through repertoire. The Services may include sheet music pages, public domain files, non-commercial scores, copyrighted repertoire pages without downloadable sheet music, repertoire descriptions, level and point systems, student profiles, performance submissions, public submissions, private evaluations, certificates, leaderboards, competitions, educational materials, lessons, products, downloads, and related tools.
Road to Virtuosity is an independent platform. It is not officially endorsed by any government agency, school district, conservatory, university, examination board, or educational authority unless expressly stated in writing.
The Services are intended for educational, musical, informational, and performance-tracking purposes. Road to Virtuosity certificates, rankings, points, leaderboards, recognitions, and evaluations are internal Road to Virtuosity recognitions. They are not official government credentials, academic degrees, school credits, professional licenses, or legally required qualifications.
You are responsible for determining whether any Road to Virtuosity certificate, ranking, evaluation, download, submission, or educational resource is suitable for your own personal, educational, institutional, professional, or legal purposes.
The information provided through the Services is not intended for distribution to or use by any person or entity in any jurisdiction where such distribution or use would be contrary to law or regulation. Users who access the Services from outside the United States or Mexico do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws where applicable.
The Services are not tailored to comply with industry-specific regulations such as HIPAA, FISMA, GLBA, or similar laws. You may not use the Services in a way that would subject Road to Virtuosity to those laws or regulations.
Road to Virtuosity includes different types of sheet music and repertoire pages. Each piece may be labeled with a copyright or availability category, including Public Domain, Non-Commercial, or Copyrighted.
Public domain sheet music may be downloaded, printed, copied, shared, performed, arranged, republished, sold, or used commercially, subject to applicable law in your jurisdiction.
Some public domain files may come from outside public domain sources. These files are provided for access, study, performance, and repertoire tracking, but they are not always created, typed up, edited, formatted, or engraved by Road to Virtuosity. Public domain files may not include Road to Virtuosity formatting, QR codes, custom engraving, or other Road to Virtuosity edition features.
The public domain status of a work may vary by country. Users are responsible for confirming whether a work is public domain in their own jurisdiction before using it commercially or redistributing it.
Non-commercial sheet music provided by Road to Virtuosity may be downloaded, printed, studied, and performed for personal, educational, and non-commercial performance purposes.
Many Road to Virtuosity non-commercial scores are carefully prepared, edited, arranged, or engraved by Road to Virtuosity or its contributors. These scores are designed to be clean, modern, readable, and practical for students, teachers, and performers.
Non-commercial sheet music may not be sold, commercially redistributed, republished as part of a paid product, uploaded to another sheet music platform, included in commercial collections, or otherwise used for commercial purposes without written permission from Road to Virtuosity or the applicable rights holder.
Copyrighted sheet music files are not provided for download on Road to Virtuosity unless Road to Virtuosity has the legal right to provide them.
Road to Virtuosity may still provide repertoire pages for copyrighted works so students can view piece details, levels, point values, descriptions, recordings, submission options, and performance-tracking tools. Students preparing copyrighted works must use legally purchased sheet music, publisher editions, teacher-provided materials, or other lawful sources outside Road to Virtuosity.
Even when a public domain file is available through Road to Virtuosity, the Road to Virtuosity website, branding, logos, design, descriptions, classifications, point values, database structure, student profiles, software, and other original platform content remain protected by intellectual property rights and may not be copied or commercially exploited without permission.
We are the owner or licensee of intellectual property rights in the Services, including source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, text, graphics, images, logos, trademarks, service marks, video, audio, descriptions, classifications, point values, certificates, page layouts, and other original content provided through the Services, except where content is clearly identified as public domain, third-party content, user-generated content, or otherwise owned by another rights holder.
Our Content and Marks are protected by copyright, trademark, database, unfair competition, and other intellectual property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Legal Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for lawful personal, educational, and permitted purposes.
Except as expressly allowed by the applicable copyright category, by these Legal Terms, or by written permission from Road to Virtuosity, you may not copy, reproduce, aggregate, scrape, republish, upload, post, publicly display, encode, translate, transmit, distribute, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any part of the Services for commercial purposes.
Public domain files may be used according to the Public Domain section above. Non-commercial files may be used only according to the Non-Commercial section above. Copyrighted works may only be used according to applicable law and the rights granted by the applicable rights holder.
If you wish to use Road to Virtuosity content, non-commercial editions, branding, descriptions, point data, certificates, images, videos, or other protected materials in a way not permitted by these Legal Terms, please contact us at [email protected].
We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:
If you provide information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current, or incomplete, we may suspend or terminate your account and refuse current or future use of the Services.
You may be required to register for an account to use certain Services, including performance submissions, points, student profiles, certificates, leaderboards, purchases, and other features.
You agree to keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
We may remove, reclaim, or change a username if we determine, in our sole discretion, that the username is inappropriate, offensive, misleading, infringing, impersonating another person, or otherwise objectionable.
We may require users to provide or connect information related to a YouTube channel or other video platform when needed for submissions, review, identity, spam prevention, or video playback.
Road to Virtuosity uses performance videos to verify completed repertoire, award points, support rankings, and evaluate certificate progress.
Public submissions are free and are reviewed by other Road to Virtuosity users.
For public submissions, students must submit a YouTube video link. A YouTube channel is required because the video must be viewable by community reviewers.
YouTube videos submitted for public review must be set to Public or Unlisted. Private videos cannot be shared, opened, or viewed by other users and cannot be reviewed.
Approved public submissions may earn points for the student’s account and may help build the student’s repertoire record. Public submissions do not count toward certificates.
Private evaluations are reviewed by Road to Virtuosity admins and require a fee.
Private evaluations are required for certificate approval. If a student wants a performance to count toward a certificate, the performance must be submitted for private evaluation and approved by Road to Virtuosity admins.
The private evaluation fee may depend on the piece, difficulty, length, number of submitted performances, or certificate requirements. Paying for a private evaluation does not guarantee approval, points, or a certificate. Fees pay for review and evaluation.
Certificate performances are evaluated and approved by Road to Virtuosity admins only. Public submissions, public evaluations, regular point submissions, community-reviewed submissions, teacher approvals outside the certificate process, and other non-certificate submissions do not count toward certificates unless Road to Virtuosity expressly states otherwise.
A certificate is awarded only after Road to Virtuosity confirms that all required repertoire has been completed and approved through the required private evaluation or certificate process.
Certificates are internal Road to Virtuosity recognitions and are not official government, school, conservatory, university, or examination-board credentials.
Submitted performance videos must follow the current Road to Virtuosity video submission rules. Unless otherwise stated, the following rules apply:
Road to Virtuosity does not permanently host large video files directly on the Site in all cases. Depending on the submission method, users may submit a YouTube link or upload a performance video directly through Road to Virtuosity when available.
Videos uploaded directly through Road to Virtuosity may be reviewed and then stored, uploaded, processed, embedded, linked, or displayed through Road to Virtuosity systems, including unlisted Road to Virtuosity YouTube channels or other third-party video infrastructure, for playback, verification, evaluation, profile display, certificate review, and performance tracking.
Rejected, incomplete, unnecessary, or noncompliant videos may be deleted or disabled without notice.
Road to Virtuosity points, rankings, and leaderboards are internal measurements based on Road to Virtuosity’s own system. Point values are based on Road to Virtuosity’s assessment of repertoire difficulty, length, complexity, and related musical factors.
Points, rankings, certificates, and leaderboard positions may be changed, corrected, removed, recalculated, or adjusted at any time if we detect errors, cheating, abuse, duplicate submissions, incorrect repertoire, improper evaluation, technical issues, or changes to the Road to Virtuosity system.
Road to Virtuosity rankings are for motivation, progress tracking, and internal recognition only. They do not have official educational, governmental, professional, or institutional validity.
Road to Virtuosity may offer free and paid products, services, and features, including but not limited to:
We may offer music lessons, courses, videos, study materials, live sessions, or other educational resources. Lesson schedules, teacher assignments, availability, pricing, and format may vary.
Road to Virtuosity may offer Certificates of Merit, Certificates of Virtuosity, and other certificate types. Certificate requirements, prices, repertoire lists, evaluation rules, and approval standards may change over time.
Road to Virtuosity may organize competitions, festivals, challenges, or events. These may have separate rules, eligibility requirements, fees, deadlines, judging criteria, prizes, and evaluation standards.
All Road to Virtuosity certificates, rankings, competitions, evaluations, points, and recognitions are internal Road to Virtuosity recognitions unless expressly stated otherwise. They are not official credentials from a governmental, educational, conservatory, university, school district, or licensing institution.
Students are responsible for their own progress, practice, repertoire preparation, and performance quality. Road to Virtuosity does not guarantee any particular educational outcome, ranking, certificate approval, competition result, professional result, scholarship opportunity, school acceptance, or career result.
We may accept payments through PayPal and other payment processors made available on the Site.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made through the Services. You agree to promptly update account and payment information as needed so we can complete your transactions and contact you when necessary.
Prices may change at any time. Sales tax or other taxes may be added when required. Unless otherwise stated, all payments are in U.S. dollars.
You agree to pay all charges at the prices shown at the time of purchase, including any applicable taxes or fees. You authorize us or our payment processor to charge your chosen payment method for such amounts.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors or mistakes, even if we have already requested or received payment. We may refuse, limit, or cancel any order in our sole discretion.
Private evaluation fees pay for evaluation and review. Payment does not guarantee approval, points, certificate credit, certificate completion, or a favorable result.
All sales are final and non-refundable unless Road to Virtuosity states otherwise in writing or a refund is required by applicable law.
This includes, but is not limited to, private evaluation fees, certificate fees, digital products, downloads, courses, lessons, competitions, events, memberships, subscriptions, and other paid services.
If a submitted performance is rejected because it does not meet Road to Virtuosity standards, the evaluation fee is not automatically refunded. Students are responsible for reviewing submission rules before paying for evaluation.
You may not access or use the Services for any purpose other than that for which we make the Services available.
As a user of the Services, you agree not to:
Violation of these rules may result in rejection of submissions, removal of points, removal of rankings, denial of certificates, deletion of content, suspension or termination of accounts, refusal of service, and other appropriate action.
The Services may allow users to create, submit, upload, link, post, display, transmit, publish, review, evaluate, or otherwise provide content and materials, including but not limited to videos, audio recordings, photographs, sheet music files, comments, reviews, ratings, evaluations, profile information, names, images, likenesses, usernames, biographical information, messages, and other materials ("Contributions").
Contributions may be viewable by other users, Road to Virtuosity admins, evaluators, community reviewers, or third-party platforms such as YouTube, depending on the submission type and settings.
When you create or make available any Contribution, you represent and warrant that:
You are solely responsible for your Contributions. You agree to indemnify Road to Virtuosity for losses arising from your Contributions, including infringement claims, privacy claims, publicity claims, or violations of law.
We may review, edit, remove, disable, recategorize, reject, or delete Contributions at any time and for any reason, without notice.
You retain ownership of your Contributions, subject to the license granted below.
By submitting, uploading, linking, posting, or otherwise making Contributions available through the Services, you grant Road to Virtuosity a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, copy, reproduce, process, upload, embed, display, publicly perform, transmit, distribute, publish, excerpt, reformat, edit for technical purposes, and otherwise use your Contributions as necessary or useful to operate, promote, improve, administer, and provide the Services.
This license includes the right to use your name, username, profile information, image, likeness, voice, performance, and submitted video or recording in connection with:
For videos uploaded directly to Road to Virtuosity, you authorize Road to Virtuosity to upload, store, or process those videos through third-party video services, including YouTube or other video hosting providers, when needed for playback, review, verification, certificate processing, or performance tracking.
This license continues for as long as necessary to operate the Services, maintain student records, display approved submissions, verify certificates, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce these Legal Terms.
We do not guarantee that any Contribution will remain available permanently. We may remove, delete, disable, hide, or restrict Contributions at any time.
If you submit or link a video hosted on a third-party platform, your use of that platform is also governed by that third party’s terms and policies.
The Services may allow or require you to link, provide, or use online accounts from third-party service providers, including YouTube or other video platforms.
You represent and warrant that you are entitled to use and provide any third-party account information, channel link, video link, or related content you submit through the Services.
Your relationship with third-party platforms, including YouTube, is governed solely by your agreement with those third-party platforms. Road to Virtuosity is not responsible for third-party platform availability, policies, moderation, takedowns, account suspensions, privacy practices, copyright systems, or technical failures.
If a third-party account, video, or service becomes unavailable, private, deleted, suspended, blocked, restricted, or inaccessible, your Road to Virtuosity submission, points, evaluation, certificate progress, or profile display may be affected.
For public submissions, YouTube videos must be set to Public or Unlisted. Private YouTube videos cannot be reviewed by other users and may be rejected.
The Services may contain links to third-party websites and may display, embed, reference, or connect to third-party content, including videos, public domain sources, external sheet music sources, payment processors, advertising providers, analytics providers, and other services.
