The arrangement begins with a clear melodic statement over chordal support, then expands into broken left-hand motion, a 6/8 middle section, thicker chordal writing, and a final running accompaniment that gives the ending more brightness and movement.

Measures 1–25 present the main hymn material in common time. The melody is placed clearly in the upper voice while the left hand moves between blocked chords, bass support, and broken accompaniment figures. The texture gradually becomes more active, especially as the left hand begins adding more eighth-note motion underneath the melody.

Measures 26–38 move into a 6/8 section with a lighter, more flowing character. The right hand continues the hymn melody while the left hand uses broken patterns and wider movement. This section gives the arrangement a more open and rolling sound compared with the opening common-time material.

Measures 39–53 return to common time and bring in a stronger chordal texture. The right hand uses higher melodic notes and fuller harmony, while the left hand supports with repeated chord patterns. This section rebuilds the weight of the arrangement after the lighter 6/8 passage.

Measures 54–63 form the final large section. The left hand moves into continuous broken patterns while the right hand plays broader chordal melody notes above it. The ending rises into a brighter upper-register close, with the final 8va chord giving the arrangement a lifted and full finish.

Interesting fact: “All Things Bright and Beautiful” was used in a very unusual way in the 1970 science fiction film Beneath the Planet of the Apes. Composer Leonard Rosenman created a distorted version of the hymn for the film’s dystopian cult scenes, giving the normally cheerful hymn a completely different and unsettling character.
